Macrame Workshops

June 17, 2019 by Garden Account

Making your first macramé plant hanger is a project that may seem difficult at first. Not to worry though! Once you’ve learned the basics, you will be able to master this boho-chic trend in no time.

You will be welcomed by Amaia, founder of Peanut Butter Dreams, at the Streatham Common Community Garden where, if the weather allows, you will make your plant hanger surrounded by all sorts of plants and hopefully enjoying a lovely English Summer day!

If the weather doesn’t behave, we got you covered! In that case, we will move the workshop into the Community Garden’s education room.

You will start by learning the three basic types of knots that we need for the workshop:

Square knot Half square knot or spiral knot Loop knot or gathering knot

Then, you will be ready to make your very own macramé plant hanger!

This class is ideal for craft enthusiasts who would like to gain a new skill, a group of friends who want to do something different together or plant lovers who want to showcase one of their house plants!
