School visits

Schools, nurseries and youth groups

SCCG is a great place to observe, interact with and learn about the natural environment. We want to make the most out of the garden’s potential as a educational resource, and are keen to host group visits by schools, nurseries and youth groups.

We can provide guided tours to introduce you and your group to the different elements of a productive food growing space from compost bins to rotation beds and wildlife areas. We also run educational activities to tie in with Curriculum topics, including:

Gardening – sowing seeds, potting on, planting out, taking cuttings, weeding

Science – bug hunts, wildlife surveys, plant identification

Other topics – soil analysis, harvesting and weighing, making plant pots or bird scarers

Please get in touch for more details.
